Technology is a critical component in how South Wales Fire and Rescue Service support the delivery of its day-to-day activities. Whether it’s mobilising our crews to operational incidents, ensuring they have access to risk critical information, or supporting back office functions in the management and control of our resources, technology touches every part of our Service. An exciting vacancy as arisen in the ICT Department for an ICT Applications Manager. The successful applicant will be responsible for the effective management of all service, support and administrative functions of the ICT Applications Team. They will also be responsible for a wide variety of projects as well as the day to day activities of the team. This will involve creating and implementing business plans, responsibility for managing budgets as well as procuring goods and services within public sector guidelines. They must be able to motivate, develop and appraise their staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to meet changing demands. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential for this post.
