Location: National Assembly for Wales, Tŷ Hywel, Cardiff Bay

Pattern of Working: This is a full-time post although flexible working arrangements will be considered, subject to meeting the needs of the Assembly and its Members.

Security Clearance: This position has been assessed as requiring a ‘CTC’ level of security vetting. For candidates who do not currently possess this level of clearance, appointment would be subject to the successful completion of this level of security vetting.

Purpose of the post:

The Commission and Member Support Service (CAMS) provides secretariat support to the Presiding Officers, Chief Executive and Directors of the Assembly, and operational and professional development advice to 60 Assembly Members and their staff.

Lead by the Head of Private Office, this role forms part of the direct support team for the Presiding Officer (Llywydd) and Deputy, ensuring they are able to carry out their duties effectively. This role will provide core support by co-ordinating, commissioning and delivering relevant and timely material, to ensure that the Presiding Officer (Llywydd) and Deputy can carry out their full range of functions effectively.

As the post holder, you will need to be confident and be able to prioritise a busy workload. Excellent communication skills and an ability to remain calm, reliable but highly responsive under pressure are also essential. You will be working in a fast-paced environment as part of a small team, and you will need to be able to work bilingually.

You will need to build and maintain excellent working relationships across the organisation and to develop a good overview of the current business context and priorities.
Working with colleagues, you will be expected to demonstrate a strong customer service ethic, have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to demonstrate an ability to manage multiple tasks in an energetic and flexible way.
