Description:

What you’ll be responsible for

  • To develop and maintain a departmental communication plan, with a two way feed to and from the Welsh Water communication grid, identifying key messages, channel fit and audience for all departmental communications including Welsh Water Organic Energy, Welsh Water Organic Waste and new projects the Commercial Department set up.

  • Working with Cardiff Council and Vale of Glamorgan own the delivery of the Domestic Food Waste Strategy. This includes developing the plan, undertaking the research, guiding the thinking for the campaign and delivering it. Setting baselines at the start and monitoring the success during key milestones. The strategy is for long term behavioural change to increase food waste recycling in the area.

  • Deliver a nudge strategy campaign to encourage the business to think about saving energy. Working with the Managing Director and the communications team to deliver through multiple media channels behaviour change campaign and measure the impact of this.

  • Support the Managing Director and their senior team in delivering effective communications (content, timing and approach) aligned to the central team’s strategy, objectives and standards including awareness of the role of the Commercial team within Welsh Water.

  • Gather and ensure feedback from communications is understood, evaluated and used to identify and drive improvements both at local and corporate level.

  • Work with Welsh Water’s Communication team to maximise the effectiveness of appropriate communications channels across their department e.g. social media campaigns, screens, notice boards, intranet, and face to face briefings.

  • Ensure effective communication supports the delivery of colleague engagement initiatives within the directorate and co-ordinating related activities including the ownership of an action plan.

  • Ensure that messages are consistent and delivered to the appropriate standard.
