Pattern of Working: This is a full-time post although flexible working arrangements will be considered, subject to meeting the needs of the Assembly and its Members.

Security Clearance: This position has been assessed as requiring a ‘CTC’ level of security vetting. For candidates who do not currently possess this level of clearance, appointment would be subject to the successful completion of this level of security vetting.

Purpose of the post:
As Digital and Communications Manager for the National Assembly for Wales, you will be responsible for planning, creating and implementing innovative and engaging digital campaigns and content. Working as part of the News, Media and Digital team you will be responsible for representing the Assembly’s voice and brand across multiple digital channels, with particular emphasis on social media.

In line with the Digital Taskforce recommendations and subsequent increase in the output of digital communications across the organisation, this post is vital to ensuring that we can continue to increase engagement with the public about our work and our role, raising the profile of the Assembly on digital platforms. It will also allow the Communications team to offer digital support to internal partners, including staff and Assembly Members.

Reporting to the Senior Digital Manager and Head of Media and Digital, you will be a multi-disciplinary communicator with demonstrable experience of delivering high-quality content on a variety of platforms including social media, web and video, and of working on integrated campaigns. You will have a flair for writing to various audience, a keen eye for detail with a strong capacity for developing high-quality digital content and will have excellent communication skills. You will be an organiser with a strong track record of managing social media channels, processes and workflows to deliver strategic goals and objectives.

The News, Media and Digital team sits within the Communications Service. Its role is to create stories and content to reach, inspire, inform and engage with the people of Wales about the role and work of the Assembly. We use best practice to make it easy for everyone to discover, access, engage and meaningfully participate with us on their own terms.
